About Jeff Watkins
The firm’s founder, Jeff Watkins, was born and raised in Cartersville, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia where he earned a BBA in Finance and received his Juris Doctor from Mercer Law School. Jeff has over 26 years of legal experience, during which time he has handled personal injury and workers compensation cases for both plaintiffs and defendants, cases involving both civil and commercial disputes, zoning and land use matters, and numerous multi-million dollar real estate transactions. Jeff began his legal career as an associate for Moore, Ingram, Johnson and Steele in the litigation and insurance defense department. During his time with Moore Ingram, Jeff developed his skills as a litigator taking hundreds of depositions, arguing motions before state and appeals courts, tried numerous cases, and secured multiple favorable settlements for the firm’s clients. After practicing several years with Moore, Ingram, Jeff became a founding member of White, Choate and Watkins, LLC where he continued his litigation practice, and also developed the firm’s transaction practice in business law, real estate, zoning and land use, as well as played a vital role in business development. In 2014, Jeff formed Jeffrey A. Watkins, P.C., where he continues to represent clients in areas of civil and commercial litigation, business law, real estate, zoning and land use. Jeff is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Bartow County Bar Association. Jeff is a 19 year member of the Rotary Club of Bartow County during which he was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow and is a former member of the Board of Directors. Jeff is actively involved in the community, currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Georgia Highlands College. As Chairman of the Georgia Highlands College Board of Trustees, Jeff has played a major role in guiding the Board through two multi-million dollar public/private ventures for the construction of the college’s student center and new academic building. As a member of the Cartersville-Bartow County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, Jeff has played a key role in attracting and fostering tourism for Bartow County and all of its municipalities, and provided oversight regarding budget and finance. Jeff is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce, and for many years also served as Chairman of the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee during which time it became one of the most effective committees of the Chamber for bringing together local business leaders, government officials and politicians to foster better communication regarding issues affecting businesses and the community.
